In its advisory, the ministry stated on numerous events previously, it has issued advisories to personal satellite tv for pc TV channels to broadcast content material strictly adhering to the Programme and Promoting Codes as prescribed beneath the Cable Tv Networks (Regulation) Act, 1995 and the foundations framed thereunder.

Consideration is drawn to the provisions of the Programme Code as per which no programme ought to include something obscene, defamatory, deliberate, false and suggestive innuendos and half-truths, the advisory stated.

As per the Code, no programme ought to criticise, malign or slander any particular person in individual or sure teams, segments of the social, public and ethical lifetime of the nation, the ministry stated.

‘All personal satellite tv for pc TV channels are requested to make sure compliance with the instructions above’, it stated.

The excessive court docket had, in its September 17 order, stated, “It’s hoped that the media homes and tv channels would present restraint within the reporting and abide by the provisions of the Programme Code as additionally the varied pointers, each statutory and self-regulatory, whereas making any report in relation to the petitioner.”
